The kebbi state Government has again reaffirmed its commitment to continue to organized workshops and seminars for the teachers across the state, especially handicapped as suggested in section 4 (d)of the blue print for the education of handicapped in Nigeria.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu made this known today while declared opened a four day training workshop of 200 Teachers from primary,junior and senior secondary schools on inclusive education,which was organised by the kebbi state ministry of education in collaboration with BILMOR Technical and vocational center held at the school of nursing Birni kebbi.
The Governor, Represented by the state Deputy Governor Alh.Samaila Yombe Dabai said that, the training of 200 teachers on inclusive education and other training is the cardinal objectives of the present administration towards improving the quality of education in the state.
Alh.Samaila Yombe Dabai also explained that ,there are physical, philosophical, spiritual, social cultural psychological and mental (intellectual ) capabilities manifested human beings.
The Deputy Gevernor further added that, this development, naturally have same implications for the special education were they require urgent attention of the government so as the group realized their potentialities.
He used the medium and called the participants of the training workshops to the knowledge gained from the training, in order to contributes their quarter towards moving the educational sector forward.
In their separate remarks at the occasion the commissioner ministry of education Alh . muh’d Magawata Alieru, the permanent secretary Ministry of education Hajiya Rufa’atu Garba Hammani as well as the founder and C .E .O of Bilmor vocational Technical vocational centre Dr.Balkisu Magoro all expressed their appreciations over the state government’s commitment to the educational development in the state.
The speakers added that, since the inception of the present administration of Governor Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has given the educational sector more priority by training and re-training of teachers across the state with the aim of providing quality education to our younger generation .
Highlight of the ceremony is an overview of the training program on inclusive education presented by Dr. Balkisu Magoro among Many papers was also presented at the training workshops by consultant/resources person .
Similarly, Demonstration on the use of computer, by the blind in promoting inclusive education by Dantani wakili Danko H.O.D Blind education as well as Drama presentations by the students from special school of handicapped in the state were observed.
